Revenge Express was partly filmed in an apartment, partly filmed in a studio. 

The apartment was a simple set-up, to not give away much about the characters.

The motel room was built from scratch in a studio. I did the mould by hand using paint, and the blood was made with fake blood and tissue paper to create clots. The set dress is specifically non time-specific, it was important to not give the audience any information about where or when the film is set. The "seedy motel" vibe was created by dirtying up the walls, adding mould, water damage, cigarettes still burning in the ashtray.
